18th Nov 2022

To start off our Stoneage/Early Man topic, the P5 children looked at at actual prints of paintings from Lascaux Cave. They talked about the art being a form a communication between the people at this time and noticed how animals and handprints were very popular among the cave paintings.πŸͺ¨πŸ€²πŸ”₯

The children then attempted their own cave paintings, painting in dark with only some light, painting against a wall (acting as a cave) painting with sticks, their fingers and stones.

They children talked about how it was much more difficult to paint with natural resources when compared with paintbrushes. The children also discussed how talented the Stoneage people were and they all thought they would be artists if they lived in today’s world πŸ–ΌπŸ€©
